Fashion and made in Italy
Italian Pride
Made in Italy, pride of Italian manufactures, is an expression that symbolizes quality, creativity and originality, characteristics that define Italy and its artist craftsmen. Italian products and goods are highly appreciated for their top quality, attention to details and innovative design.
It wasn't always like this. As a matter of fact the expression "Made in Italy" was originally negative. It was used for the first time in the 1960s when Italian manufacturers were demanded to mark their goods "Made in Italy" by the German and French governments so that their own citizens could easily identify these goods, many textiles and shoes, as not manufactured in their own country.
Today, many Made in Italy brands are appreciated and recognized worldwide for their innovative design and high-quality. Consider, for example, in the fashion world famous Italian brands such as Valentino, Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana and Prada. In the world of cars and motorbikes made in Italy, names such as Ferrari and Ducati come to mind while Italian designers and architects such as Giorgetto Giugiaro, Sergio Pininfarina and Massimiliano Fuksas are internationally-recognized.
"Made in Italy" is a matter of Italian pride.
